Melpomene
Melpomene is a Muse from the South Village, Castle Roogna, then Mount Parnassus in Xanth. She was first mentioned in Isle of View.
Melpomene was delivered in 912. She is the daughter of Mnem and Ebnez and sister of Calliope, Euterpe, Terpsichore, Erato, Polyhymnia, Urania, Thalia, and Clio. She was 25 years old when she moved to Mount Parnassus and became the Muse of Tragic Poetry in 937 and stopped aging. She is 25 years old.
Melpomene and her sisters were sent to Castle Roogna in 917 by her father to protect them from the Twelfth Wave.
