Mare Imbrium

Mare Imbrium is a night mare who became a day mare from the Gourd then Xanth. She was first introduced in Ogre, Ogre.

Mare Imbrium was delivered in 897. She is the girlfriend of Day Stallion, mate of Forrest, and dam of Palus Putredinis. She is 221 years old.

Mare Imbrium was bringing a bad dream to Tandy when Tandy woke up and forced her to take Tandy to the Good Magician's Castle. While she served as King pro tem during the NextWave invasion, she defeated the Horseman and restored the Kings, however, she died when destroying the Horseman's circlet in the Void. She became a Day Mare because she got half a soul from Chem so survived the Void in soul form. She appears as a solid black horse in daylight and as a young woman wearing black in dreams but is dematerialized in darkness. Her name was shortened to Imbri by Smash.

She was briefly hosted by Win. The Sea Hag attached herself to Imbri's soul, so Noe was asked to host Imbri. It was while the Sea Hag was attached to Imbri's soul, that the Sea Hag was expelled and trapped in the Void.

Character notes

Notes

Human men and women will not have a species in their entries. Also, if the surname of the character is the character's species, it was dropped.

If the character is a child, it will be in the description. The child will more than likely be an adult by this time in the Xanth series.

Many species are single gender, so their entries will not mention it. The species are Fury, Muse, basilisk, cenmaid, cenmare, cockatrice, dryad, maenad, sand witch, sandman, and woodwife. Harpies and nymphs are usually female, and fauns are usually male; but there have been a few exceptions that are noted.

In some instances, I have made educated guesses on gender, species, and some birth years.
