King Jonathan

King Jonathan of Human Xanth is a man from Castle Zombie in Xanth then Zombie. His talent is creating zombies. He was first introduced in The Source of Magic.

Jonathan was delivered in 207. He is the son of Tapis and Merlin, brother of Taplin and Merara, husband of Millie, and father of Hiatus and Lacuna. He was 29 years old when he became a zombie in 236 and began aging again when he was reanimated in 1055. He is 92 years old.

Jonathan was the sixth King of Human Xanth while he was a zombie, and he served as King pro tem during the NextWave invasion. He is also known as Zombie Master. He is a contemporary of Roogna and Murphy, but did not participate in their rivalry for the throne. He can reanimate almost any body to make a zombie, including his own, which he did when Millie was murdered. He was reanimated hundreds of years later.

Novels: The Source of Magic, Castle Roogna, Centaur Aisle, Night Mare, Dragon on a Pedestal, Crewel Lye: A Caustic Yarn, Vale of the Vole, Isle of View, Question Quest, The Color of Her Panties, Geis of the Gargoyle, Roc and a Hard Place, Zombie Lover, Xone of Contention, The Dastard, Swell Foop, Up in a Heaval, Cube Route, Currant Events, Air Apparent, Two to the Fifth, Esrever Doom, Ghost Writer in the Sky

Character notes

Notes

Human men and women will not have a species in their entries. Also, if the surname of the character is the character's species, it was dropped.

If the character is a child, it will be in the description. The child will more than likely be an adult by this time in the Xanth series.

Many species are single gender, so their entries will not mention it. The species are Fury, Muse, basilisk, cenmaid, cenmare, cockatrice, dryad, maenad, sand witch, sandman, and woodwife. Harpies and nymphs are usually female, and fauns are usually male; but there have been a few exceptions that are noted.

In some instances, I have made educated guesses on gender, species, and some birth years.
