Irene is a woman from Castle Roogna in Xanth. Her talent is causing plants to grow rapidly and completing full life cycles in minutes, a green thumb. She was first introduced in Castle Roogna.
Irene was delivered in 1044. She is the daughter of Iris and Trent; sister of an unnamed brother, Ilene, Trenris, Irenti, and Trentia; wife of Dor; and mother of Ida, Ivy, Dolph, and Io. She is 74 years old.
Irene was originally classified as a sub-magician, she was deemed a full Sorceress so she could served as King pro tem during the NextWave invasion. She has green hair. Weedles and Zilch were her childhood pets.
